Welcome to your CHAPTER 10 - Reviews
- What do your clients say most often about you?
- What do you want to be known for?
- What would a perfect review of your work say?
Use this language when guiding your clients to write authentic reviews.
- Your name
- Type of treatment
- What they liked most
- Why someone else should book
Write a sample Google review for yourself or a peer using all 4 components. Exchange with a peer and give feedback – “Would this review make you want to book?”
4. Practice asking clients for a video testimonial with confidence.
- Setup: Partner up or role-play with yourself.
- One plays the client, the other plays the therapist.
- Practice asking using one of the chapter’s sample scripts.
- Respond to different reactions: excited, unsure, or nervous clients.
- Record short mock testimonials as practice.
- Add your logo to the video or play with framing to make it “brand-worthy.”
5. Read each of the 5 sample scripts aloud.
- Add your own twist or tone to make them authentic to your voice.
- Then, create one more script from scratch that you would actually say.
6. Create a sheet with these columns:
- Date
- Client Name
- Review Platform (Google, Yelp, etc.)
- Review Written (Y/N)
- Mentioned Your Name? (Y/N)
- Any referral or social proof?
Set a goal: “5 new reviews this month.” Then track your progress!
7. Think of 3 past clients who raved about you but never left a review. Reach out via text/email with a warm message like:
“Hi Mary, I’ve been thinking about the great session we had and how much I enjoyed working with you. If you still feel the same, would you be willing to leave a quick Google review about our time together?”
Reconnect with past clients and build your online presence.
8. Imagine you’re mentoring a new therapist.
- Create a 5-minute “How to Ask for Reviews” training using the concepts in this chapter.
- Include 3 key tips, 1 script, and 1 review example.
Actually record yourself and watch it back to refine your delivery.
